For Grist Real Estate Associates, real estate isn’t just a business, it’s a lifestyle. Our team of associates have close to 75 years of experience between them. We work hard to dedicate our time and energy into helping people, learning more about client’s needs, and putting our best foot forward in their purchase or sale of a property. We strive hard to not only establish a business relationship with people, but create long-term relationships that extend past the sale. Finding the realtor that works best with you is the first step in buying or selling your house.
Donna Stoner lived in the Greenbrier Valley for 40 years. She has worked in real estate for over 14 years. Currently, she and her husband, Rod, live in Charlottesville, VA, but her dedication to her work still keeps her an active presence in Lewisburg and the surrounding areas.
Grist Real Estate Associates recently sat down with Donna to learn a little bit more about the hard-working woman with the friendly smile.
(Donna could even sell to this guy.)
GREA: What do you love about this area (GBR County)?
DS: The topography is beautiful, the diversity and warmth of the community, Carnegie Hall, The Greenbrier Valley theater, the activities that are available, it is a very special place to live.
GREA: What’s your favorite event in town?
DS: Lewisburg is very unique in that it is a very art based community and there are many choices of events to attend. I have always loved TOOT and the diversity of the event and the multitudes of people it attracts and that it benefits multiple organizations in town.
GREA: What are some of your favorite hobbies/activities?
DS: Painting, cooking, Going to the beach or any water activities Attending museums, art related or musical events, volunteering.
GREA: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
DS: I love the 4 seasons. Any location that provides the four seasons and is easy to travel to be with my family will work for me.
GREA: What is the last book you read or movie you saw?
DS: I like John Grisham books, but as a person it seems he gives back to his community and is supportive to various organizations. My favorite book is probably A gift from the Sea by Anne Marrow Lindbergh.
GREA: What’s your favorite thing to eat?
DS: Ice cream. I am also a self-proclaimed “cookie monster.”
GREA: Do you have any pets?
DS: We have had one Lab and 2 Springer Spaniels. We are currently sharing our daughters rescue dog who is a very gentle and loving mix of Shar-pei and Lab.
GREA: What bit of real estate advice would you give buyers/sellers?
DS: Buying or selling a home is one the largest and sometimes most stressful things we do in our lives. It is important to choose an agent with whom you can establish an excellent rapport and communicate, communicate, communicate. Look at the type of properties they are selling or listing, do they have knowledge of the area in which you are buying or selling and what is their reputation not only in Real Estate but in the community.
